January 11, 2012

Today I researched how much food would cost and how much a version phone bill would cost. It is hard work, this budgeting stuff. Tomorrow I will continue to research and see how much clothes and travel will cost:)

What I did On January 10, 2012

Today I found my house/cabin and got down all of the information. Then I started finding out how much my job paid and how much my husband's job paid. It was an interesting day and hopefully I will get more done tomorrow.

My Cabin:)

I have found a house in Grand Lake that is 1 bedroom and 1 bath. It is about $456 or so a month and its very affordable. I believe it will work for now and I have no roommates just a husband:)

Complications.

I don't have any complications so far with my spreadsheet. I enjoy working in excel and understand most of it. If I have any questions, believe me, I will ask:)

My Job.

The job that I have found right out of high school, was working for Sunset Magazine as a Sales and Commission person. I believe that this job will help me, because in the future I would like to become a writer for Sunset. By taking this job, I hope it will help me slowly know the business and how it operates:)

What I Did on January 5, 2012

Today in class I started to research what things would cost on my budget chart that I created. The hardest thing is finding how much my job pays (they don't let you know until you receive the job) Another thing is that how much my mortgage would cost for my house I would like to live in.

Here is my Budget Chart

Poverty Costs.

What I took away from that article yesterday, is that being poor isn't as easy as the middle class may think it is. The poor have it hard, because they can't just jump in there car and go somewhere to get cheaper groceries. Instead they are forced to buy cheap food for a higher cost than the rest of us. While making my budget I will keep in mind that I don't want to end up like those people. Meaning that I will keep to my budget and not be lead astray.

What I Did on January 4, 2012

Today the class sat out and we read an article aloud. The article was about poverty and how the poor end up paying more for simple things such as: bread, milk, beef products. The article explained why people who are poor, end up staying poor and never can make it back up to the middle class. I felt it was very interesting, but also was very disturbing to know how people live in other areas of the U.S

Steps to an Email.

To attach a document to an email you first have to have a document. Then you press the button on the screen that says attach file. You then open the file you want to attach to your email. Once the document is completely loaded you can send it to the person.

End of Tuesday January 3, 2012

Today we talked about our next project we will be doing in Excel. We are going to create a Budget Chart and calculate all of our expenses. Should be very interesting and helpful.

What I Didn't Know:)

I knew very little about excel before we started the Cargo Bridge project. During the project I learned how to create formulas and why they were so important to the document. I also learned how to get percents calculated and totals after taxes.
